When I moved out of London in 2000 I began to write seriously.\u00a0For my exhibition ‘Unstill Lives<\/a>‘ I accompanied the work with selected extracts from my sketchbook journals.\u00a0The reaction of visitors was extremely empowering and\u00a0encouraged me to\u00a0focus on developing it as a medium. Initially I attended residential courses held at The Lotus Tree <\/a>in France, led by the author Patrick Gale<\/a>. These focused on gay writing in particular, with intensive workshops and reading.
